The second volume of Habersetzer’s “Kobudô” describes the techniques of the weapons nunchaku and tonfa. The final part of the book deals with the modern application of the tonfa as multipurpose truncheon of the police. Basic techniques such as different methods to make ready the tonfa, blocks, thrusts, blows and joint-locking techniques are described in detail and illustrated with many drawings and photographs.

Furthermore, special techniques are presented that can be of greatest importance for the police officer, such as the protection of the own tonfa against theft, or the defence of the service weapon. Of particular interest is the possibility provided by this book to involve reliable methods of classical kobudô in the modern practice of armed law-enforcement services. Generally, practicability and efficiency were the essential criteria for the selection of the presented techniques.
